(CD, Hostile Music Ltd., 2011)
Despite the fact that who is who is not important for this band (for instance I guess I can praise the singer for his drumming or the bassist for his guitar leads), the fact is that this UK based band has released its first ever full-length album “Eve Of Destruction”. Let’s take a closer look...
Produced by none other than JUDAS PRIEST’s own KK Downing, the debut album by these British metallers is one of those “been there, done that” cases. “Eve Of Destruction” is a really fine sample of groovy Heavy/Thrash Metal with some Nu touches. Without offering something you’ve never listened to before, HOSTILE are doing a really good job in producing some groovy and aggressive music influenced by bands like PANTERA, MACHINE HEAD, even a bit of KORN. It’s not something to kick your ass like it’s never been kicked before, but it is a more than decent album for those into the Groove Metal, Post Thrash or however you want to call it sound.
KK Downing must have seen something really good in these guys, so I guess I’ll be waiting for their future steps to see how far can HOSTILE get. It’s on them to do something that will get them into the premier league of Metal.
